Time to get to know a hottie!
You most likely recognize Matt Prokop from his role as Jimmy in High School Musical 3, and now the 19-year old from Texas is protecting the woods in a brand new family comedy called Furry Vengeance (in theaters nationwide on April 30).
Matt took some time out of his busy schedule to chat with us over IM! In between LOLz, we talked about HSM, girls, CGI animals and so much more...
4TNZ: Does anyone ever call you by your HSM nickname: "Rocket Man?"
Matt: It's funny you ask that — it's kind of become like a nickname. [When] my friend Matt Shively [from True Jackson VP] calls me "Rocket Man," it kindo f creeps me out. But when fans do, it's pretty cool and I'll usually sign autographs for the younger crowd with my name followed by "Rocket Man."
4TNZ: Tell us a little bit about Furry Vengeance? You play Brendan Fraser's son, right?
Matt: Yes, I play Tyler Sanders. He's a typical teen who wants nothing to do with his parents and just wants to listen to music and be on the computer all day.
4TNZ: Was it hard working with CGI animals?
Matt: I grew up in Texas where I was out in nature a lot. I loved going camping so I've always had a big appreciation for nature. And we used like 50/50 CGI animals and real animals. Sadly, Tyler didn't have too much interaction with the animals.
4TNZ: Okay, so here's a not-so-veiled question: Are you a big fan of Modern Family? [Girlfriend Sarah Hyland is on the show.]
Matt: LOVE Modern Family. Phil Dunphy is the best character!!!!
4TNZ: Well that's a little bit of a surprising answer.
Matt: Is that due to a certain few pics in Hawaii? [That's where he was photographed smooching Sarah!]
4TNZ: Well you make it pretty clear, man. But if you don't mind, our readers would love to know, how's your relationship going?
Matt: It's going great actually, thanks.
4TNZ: What would you do if your girlfriend's dad was like hers on the show? Could you handle it?
Matt: That wouuld be awesome. Ty Burrell [Phil on Modern Family], is an awesome guy and anytime I go on set he treats me like I'm dating his daughter, and he's really similar to his character so it's always a fun visit!
