Hey Twihards: Here's another vampire tale to sink your teeth into this summer! Set in the fictional town of Lover's Bay, Massachusetts, Infinite Days by newcomer Rebecca Maizel introduces us to the extremely evil vampire queen, Lenah Beaudonte.
We start with Lenah re-awakening as a 16 year-old after 100 years of hibernation (now THAT's a power nap). What’s her first challenge? Starting high school, of course!
Lenah's adjustment to modern day technology and her vampire tendencies are just minor stumbling blocks, though. A bigger issue: Her coven (the men she left behind to become human again), will be looking for her come Halloween. Good timing!
I came across Infinite Days after being directed to this blog, where I saw an awesome photo trailer that was done by Vania Stoyanova. That's when I knew immediately that the book was a must-read.
Maizel has created a surprising tale that includes what we want for all our fictional vampires: a way to become human again. This is exactly what Rhode Lewin - Lenah's maker - provides her.
I also love that Lenah never loses her evil vampire self during her re-awaking, adding snarky attitude and wickedly bad thoughts about classmates. We can all relate, no?
