The Fart Won The Swim Meet!

This year, I was on the swimming team at school (I'm no Olympic champ, but I'm not too shabby either).
Well, I try not to eat big meals before a big race. But one time, I stupidly broke the rule and had a burrito for lunch. By the time my freestyle race was about to start later that afternoon, my stomach was really rumbling.
And as I put on my suit and jumped up on the starting block, I could feel a fart coming on.
I leaned down to wait for the starting pistol with the other swimmers...but I couldn't hold it in anymore. Between the digested burrito and my nerves, I let out the biggest fart ever!
The weird part was: Everybody else thought that the sound meant the race had started and jumped into the pool, while I stayed on the starting block!
I couldn't have been MORE embarrassed. All the people in the stands were cracking up and I was basically a (smelly) laughingstock.
The good news? Everybody else was penalized for a false start...and that gave me an advantage in the actual race...and I won!
Guess my stupid "starting fart" came in handy after all.

Whoo! I'm a swimmer too. My second meet was today and I had really bad gas, but everyone was cheering. Glad you won. Hehe. That would have been funny if that happened to one of my team mates.... :P
