I Fell Off The Homecoming Float!

Since I'm class president, I'm supposed to help out with getting the school ready for Homecoming events. Go team! And another bonus of being class prez? Riding on a float in the Homecoming parade!I was super psyched for my upcoming rockstar moment. So new dress? Check. Family in attendance? Check. That cute boy over by the hot dog stand checking me out? Check check!
I got on the float and we made our entrance into the football field. Then, I started doing my best "pageant wave" and smiling at the crowd (oh, hey there, cutie from before!).
But as we hit the home crowd, I got so into it, I jumped up in excitement to cheer for our team. The only problem was, I lost my balance and fell off the float just as my name was announced on the PA! Darn heels!
When I got up, everyone was laughing. But they didn't realize I was hurt. It turned out that I sprained my ankle!
I brushed myself off and walked along with the float for the rest of the parade. And the worst? It looks like the only thing I'll be taking to the Homecoming dance are crutches.
Kinda like twilight but not with all the parade float.
