Warning to Nick, Joe and Kevin: Russell Brand is back!
The British funnyman has been tapped to host the MTV Video Music Awards again, a year after he caused a stir by making jokes about the Jonas Brothers purity rings. Ah, it's all coming back to us now... (cue violent rage).
This time, the comedian said he'll keep things clean, promising a "controversy-free festival of love and [EXPLETIVE DELETED]." Uh, yeah. Whatever.
Helping to take our mind off the shaggy-haired JB hater will be Taylor Swift, announced as one of the 2009 VMA performers. "I love incorporating theatrics into my performances, and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that," she gushed. Hmmm. Wonder what "theatrics" could mean? Is she going to perform a play during "Love Story?" Can't wait to find out!
And we hope Russell manages to keep his mitts off her... or he'll get a purity ring, alright. Thrown at his forehead.
