My Crush Caught Me Practicing Pickup Lines!

Last year, there was this school dance that I was really trying to get psyched up for because I heard my crush Natalie was going solo.
In preparation, my older brother gave me some pickup lines to try to use on her. (I know, lame that I have to ask, right?)
Anyway, as I was making my way to the dance through the parking lot, I kept practicing saying stuff like, "Did it hurt when you fell down from heaven?" and "There's something wrong with my cell phone...it doesn't have your number in it."
That's when I heard laughing behind me...
Yep, it was Natalie and all her pals — they heard me talking to myself, using the cheesiest pickup lines possible!
Apparently, I was so focused on trying to say the right thing that I didn't even notice.
Not only that, but the girls must have told everybody what they saw in the parking lot, because throughout the whole night, people kept coming up to me, trying out cheesy pickup lines of their own and then laughing in my face. Ugh!
The good news: Natalie must have thought my pathetic display was "cute"...because I did score a dance later!
Next time, though, I'm dropping the lines...and just being myself. "Hey, baby..."
Well at least she gave you a chance! Alot of the stories on this site don't end that way....O.o

ugh, no girl likes pickup lines of ANY kind! even "Hey, baby" is pretty dorky ^_^ next time, skip that "Hey, baby" and try something like "Hey, I'm so-and-so. Wanna dance?". perfect and classic, not at all corny.
Be yourself? One tip: DON'T SAY, 'HEY BABY'! That's also kind of cheesy, too.
