She Caught Me Mackin’ On Myself

I was getting ready for my date with Hannah, and I was so nervous. I decided to practice some of my opening lines in the hall mirror. “You look really beautiful tonight. That top really brings out the color of your eyes. Did you do something special with your hair? Because it looks even better than usual.”
But just then, I heard a voice chime in, “Wow. You are sooo into yourself!” Yup, it was Hannah — she had arrived at my house early.
I tried to tell her I was actually planning to say those things to her, but I just came off as pathetic. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lamest of them all? That would be me.
