Twilight Banned Down In Australia!
Guess some people think koalas are cuter than Cullens.
A number of junior high schools in Australia have done the unthinkable and banned the Twilight novels from their schools: Meaning they're not in the library, and kids can't even bring their own copies to school!
Why would they do such a thing?
One teacher said: "We wanted to make sure they realise it's fictitious and ensure they don't have a wrong grasp on reality."
Right, because we all think Edward is real and there are werewolves and immortal vampires. Ha! Not.
Wake up, you dingo-loving fun haters! Twilight is the best book series ever, and not letting your kids read it is totally lame!

I'm sorry to tell you dear person who wrote this but its more to the fact school don't want their students bashed or hurt because they hate that stinking book.And theya re children! children don't know teh difference between fact and fiction in books. Have you ever seen a kid get punched in the face because they were playing pretend TMNT or Sailor moon and say "But I was Sailor Moon it's not my fault."

I'm an Aussie who thinks this move by a select few schools was pathetic...my 15 year old neighbor and I had a race to see who could finish all four books first. Where I live the book hasn't been banned in schools so there was a bit too much hype on the subject for nothing really.

This is really stupid of schools banning the Twilight series.First they tell you to read a book.And we finally read a book that we like.They take it away from us for having a good time.And at least all of my english teachers recommend the Twilight series for fluency.And ever since I read the books.I have at least an A on english.

Look everyone, us Australians think it's as silly as you all do. But the fact is, these schools can do whatever they want and they shouldn't have to be criticized by other young adults who do not even live in our country. Our teachers are not dumb, they know what the series is about and the REALITY of it is, some children do get caught up in it and they can still read them at home? School is for learning, not Twilight. I do love the series and have read it over and over again but I think that a petition is very unnecessary. If you don't live in Australia and don't go to those schools, is it even your problem? Think about that.

Come now get a grip...We are a little smarter than that. Everyone knows that it's fiction. We just like the characters we all wish for someone to love us that much. That's what makes the books so great.
