He Ate My Missing Tooth!

Wanna hear a really gross story?
A few months ago, I fell during cheerleading practice and broke my front tooth. I even had to have it capped by an oral surgeon. It was so painful! The good news, though, was that nobody could really tell because of the cap.
That is, until one night when I was out to the movies with this totally hot guy named Brady. Everything was going great: He had his arm around me as we shared a bucket of popcorn!
But in the middle of the flick, I suddenly felt something in my mouth come loose — my tooth cap had dropped into the bucket of popcorn!
Before I knew what was happening, Brady reached down and grabbed a handful of kernels with the cap.
He crunched down on the fake tooth and then spit it out with a disgusted look on his face. "Eww, what is this?" he said.
"Sorry,"
I responded, trying to cover up my face as much as possible. "Must be a
burnt piece of popcorn." (I made sure not to smile at him for the rest
of the night so he wouldn't know what really happened.)
Should I not have lied? The tooth hurts!
