llamas need to be shaved in the summer otherwise the will suffer from heat exaustion and the will become ill. you should sahve the sensitive areas like the legs or head it isn't animal abuse it helps the llama
so this animal judging by it's apearance is a pygmy alpaca not a llama.
It may also be an alpaca te difference is quite simple between a llama and an alpaca an alpaca's coat is worth a lot more money than a llama's. an alpaca also has thicker fur so it must be shaved more so in hot weater it does not suffer from heat exaustion. llamas have bannana shaped ears while alpacas have strait ears. alpacas are also 1-2 feet shorter than llamas. But, both llamas and alpacas are related to camels.

This animal is actually a geneticly altered species of llamma called a dawrf or pygmy llama in other words it's a small type of llama that isn't natural.
