Ex-BF Revenge Songs: Yay or Nay?
Don't mess with Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift!
Both singers recently said that they TOTALLY write songs about guys who have broken their hearts. "You know what, if they want me to write bad songs about them, they shouldn't do bad things." (Hear that, Joe?)
And after Selena said that boys who have hurt her "don't deserve" to have songs written about them, she then clarified that by saying, "I sing about what is on every girl's mind. Love. What I was implying was that the songs I sing about, the boys who have hurt me or that are no longer in my life don't deserve a song to be written about them but, that's impossible." (Hear that, Nick? Be careful!)
But what do YOU guys think? Are you on Taylor and Selena's side?
If a JoBro (or anybody else for that matter) broke up with you and you were a pop star, would you write a dis track?

It depends on whether the relationship was really serious or not. If it was just one of those brief romances then no. But if we were both really dedicated to making the relationship work than yes because obviously i would be really heartbroken over but i would only record it if i think it would really sell.

You're inspired by heartbreak, plain and simple. It's common sense that a release for singers would be a song written. I agree with Taylor.

No way, what happens between you and a boyfriend should say between you two. It's okay if you want to write about it, but make sure that you don't make it obvious who it is.
I don't think that if a guy brakes up with you, he shouldn't be classified as a jerk. I mean, if he's over you; that's okay. So, no, if that was the case, I wouldn't write a song about him, especially if it was all about him being a jerk. Now, if he was cheating on me, I'd write a totally mean song, and tell everyone who it was about. :P

erm...well I'm on both sides. I mean if one of them broke up with me in a mean way, I will try to write a song thats pretty hurtful but I won't tell anyone who its inspired by. But if I like them a lot then I'll probably write a song blaming myself for making them feel that way that they had to brake it off.

Nay. The break-up was probably hard enough. Yeah, it's probably good for musicians to write songs about relationships to vent and stuff, but not when they use actual names in their songs.
