The Third Wheel On My Crush's Date!

I was going to the movies with a group of friends, and Jeff — the guy I
liked for months — was going, too. It was time to finally make my move!
As we went up to the counter to pay, I gave Jeff a little wink and
said, "I've got yours covered," and asked for two tickets. Get this: He
smiled back and said, "Thanks, you're the best!" Yay! I felt so cool!
That is, until I realized I only had enough cash to pay for one ticket.
So instead, I paid with my parents' "for emergencies only" credit card.
Too bad it was declined!
I asked them to try it again. No luck. Everyone in line behind me started yelling and getting impatient. I was so mortified!
Finally, my friend Lisa came up and bailed me out. Which was fine,
except that SHE got to be the hero, and I was still the zero. Even
worse, Jeff and Lisa ended up holding hands for the entire movie, with
me being forced to sit next to them... on their date! I couldn't believe my friend stole my almost-boyfriend!
Guess who's not invited to see New Moon with me now? That's you, Lisa!
